1. Demonstration only — not medical advice

TCM Voice is a technical demonstration that showcases two features in isolation: an ambient speech-to-text scribe and a digital visit-record / PDF exporter. It is not a certified medical device, electronic health record system, or clinical decision-support tool, and it is not intended for production clinical use.

All transcripts, structured records, diagnoses, treatments, herbal formulas, and other outputs are generated by automated speech recognition and large language models. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Nothing produced by this app constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always rely on a qualified, licensed practitioner's own judgement — never on this app's output.

2. How your data is handled

To function, this app sends your microphone audio and the resulting text to third-party AI services for processing. By using the recording feature you consent to this. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and no Business Associate Agreement (BAA) or equivalent healthcare data-protection agreement is in place with them.

Your recordings, transcripts and visit records are not stored. Audio is passed to the AI service in memory and never written to our disks, the transcript is used to draft the record and then discarded, and the visit record itself lives only in your browser until you export the PDF.

The only things kept on our server are the email address of the Google account you sign in with, and usage records — how many consults you have run and what each cost to process. No patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers or insurance details are collected by this app at all.

3. Your responsibilities & limitation of liability

This app may capture real health information. You are solely responsible for what you record and enter. Do not provide audio or information that you are not authorised to share, and obtain any consent required from the people involved before recording.

The operators of this demonstration accept no responsibility or liability for the collection, handling, storage, retention, transmission, or disclosure of any health or personal information you choose to provide.

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators disclaim all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this app or its outputs.

4. Free to use, and still in beta

This app is currently free. It is funded by the university, and every consult costs real money to process, so a daily limit applies to each account. If the number of users grows, we may have to reduce that limit, restrict access, or introduce paid plans to keep the costs sustainable.

The app is also still in beta. Features, wording and limits may change at any time, and continued availability is not guaranteed.
